Spring is finally here. But it’s not like the weather knows the difference. We have been searching the web for the newest trends and this year the movement is extravagance and bright colors. Anything from earrings that are big enough to be seen across a room, to bracelets that cover half of your arm. We know the statements are hard for some of us to imitate, so we have compiled the jewelry we want to share with you to the styles and colors of these spring 2015 trends, rather than the size. The thing about fashion, though is that practicality is hardly a question. Who cares about that? But we need it, whether we know it or not. The pictures you see are just a few of the spring 2015 functional, and trending pieces from our shop that have gotten a boost with this new season.
The spring trends this year can be a perfect way to perk up your outfit. Its cute, functional, and bold all at the same time. It’s easy to create the style you want, with a little bit of planning and the correct pieces to go along with it. And the thing about fashion, is you can pair them in different ways. As we all know, our wallets do not have an endless supply, so why not mix the old with the new this year? Happy Trending.

The two birthstones associated with December are Tanzanite and Turquoise.
Discovered in the late 1960s in Tanzania, and found exclusively in this tiny area of the world, tanzanite exhibits a rich violet-blue color for which the gemstone is treasured; often it is heat-treated to achieve this color. Colors range from blue to purple, and tanzanites that are medium dark in tone, vivid in saturation, and slightly violet blue command premium prices. As tanzanite can be less expensive than sapphire, it often was purchased as an alternative. However, it has increased in popularity and now is valued more for its own beauty and brilliance than as a sapphire substitute.
The name turquoise, from the French expression Pierretourques or Turkish stone, originated in the thirteenth century and describes one of the oldest known gemstones. Turquoise varies in color from greenish blue, through robin’s egg-blue, to sky blue shades and its transparency ranges from translucent to opaque. Turquoise is plentiful and is available in a wide range of sizes. It is most often used for beads, cabochons, carvings, and inlays. Although its popularity fluctuates in fashion, it is a perennial favorite in the American Southwest.

Rubelite is the name of the pink to red colored hues of tourmaline. Tourmalines are semi-precious stones that come in a variety of colors.
There are red and pink tourmalines in many subtle differences, which include a soft pink, a fine bright pink, an deep violet and a bold ruby-red. However, only a few of these are deserving to call themselves ‘rubelites’. The name comes from the Latin ‘rubellus’, which means reddish. Rubelites are not just red or bright pink tourmalines. There is an important principle for this beautiful gemstone, and that is the way its color behaves in daylight and artificial light. Many gemstones change their color depending on the light source. A true rubelite does not. It shines just as intensely in artificial light as it does in daylight. The color of most other pink or red tourmalines, by contrast, displays a more or less clearly visible tinge of brown in artificial light.
This stunning, up and coming stone has caught Avianti’s eye and we have begun to add this into our fine jewelry collection.
